Human Resources

The Human Resources Management Associate Program was launched in 1997 to develop a pipeline of entry-level human resources professionals that have the potential to become future leaders at Pfizer.

The objective of the HRMA Program is to provide Pfizer with a pipeline of highly talented colleagues who have the potential to become future HR leaders. The two-year program, comprised of three 8-month rotations, is designed to provide each HRMA with experiences and development opportunities across Pfizer's many businesses, locations and HR functions. HRMAs also interact with senior leaders throughout the program in support of career development.

Examples of past and current accountabilities include:

• Generalist for Pfizer Global Research and Development, including participation in organizational design, diversity and performance management initiatives
• Compensation Analyst for Pfizer Global Manufacturing, including roll out of a transparent compensation system and process
• Generalist for Pfizer Global Pharmaceuticals supporting European markets, participating in recruiting, talent and succession planning initiatives
• Generalist / Organizational Effectiveness Specialist, participating in change management efforts for Global Financial Shared Services

In addition, mentorship is an important part of the HRMA Program. HRMAs are appointed a senior HR leader who is available to share their expertise and experiences, and to provide coaching to support professional growth. Furthermore, HRMAs are provided an opportunity to serve as mentors to the HR Summer Associates to assist with the development of their leadership capabilities.

Assignments require capabilities in strategic thinking, analytical mindset, project management, teamwork and collaboration, effective communication, commitment to self-improvement, and change management. A Master's degree is required to gain entry into the program as well as prior HR experience including internship(s). Many of Pfizer's Management Associates have come through our summer associates program.
